BIOGRAPHY

Tamara Nemirovsky is an international award-winning filmmaker, animator, and educator, known for her award-winning stop-motion film that has garnered recognition at prestigious film festivals worldwide. Her works have been featured at events such as Rassegna di film e video sui Diritti Umani in America Latina e Caraibi, Donne e conoscenza storica (Women and History Conscience section at the Latin American Civil Rights Film and Video Exhibition) (Italy), Gerona Film and Video Festival (Spain), and the International Film Festival on Human Rights in Latin America (Argentina).

Born and raised in Argentina, Tamara earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film and TV Production and Direction from Cordoba National University in 1998. She furthered her studies, graduating Suma Cum Laude with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Computer Animation from Miami International University in 2002.

In the year 2000, Tamara was awarded a scholarship by the Fulbright Commission as part of a national contest for the production and direction of audio-visual projects in Argentina. Additionally, she received a scholarship from the Latin American and Spanish Professional Audiovisual Artist Development Commission.

Tamara's career has spanned various roles, including teaching at The School of Art and Art History and serving as the Director of Video Productions at Absolute Mobile Solution, a digital marketing agency. Since 2017, she has contributed as a Grand Juror at the Gasparilla International Film Festival.

Currently, Tamara is a faculty member at the University of South Florida at The Judy Genshaft Honors College. In March 2023, she completed the production, direction, filming, and editing of "Second Chances," a documentary shedding light on the struggles of four individuals facing addiction, homelessness, and incarceration, further complicated by the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The documentary received the Best Documentary Award at The Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival 2023, Best Documentary Made during Quarantine award, Best Feature Female Director award and Best Documentary Screenplay nomination at South Film and Art Academy Festival 2024 (Chile) as well as the Award of Excellence: Documentary Feature at The Impact DOCS Awards documentary competition (California, USA). “Second Chances” also attained semi-finalist status at the Chicago Art House Film Festival and has been officially selected at the Gasparilla International Film Festival 2023, Dunedin International Film Festival 2024 and at BARCIFF • Barcelona Indie Filmmakers Festival 2024.
