“Second Chances” Selected by the Gasparilla International Film Festival

Tampa, FL. March 10th, 2023. USF Adjunct Instructor Tamara Nemirovsky’s latest documentary, “Second Chances,” has been selected for the prestigious Gasparilla International Film Festival. This uplifting story of hope and redemption follows four individuals in Tampa facing the daunting challenge of recovering from substance abuse, incarceration, and homelessness.

The film follows its four main characters as they strive to rebuild their lives amid the uncertainty created by the global COVID-19 pandemic. Along with them, we learn about the power of friendship and support systems and how determination can help us achieve our dreams despite any obstacle.

“I’m so honored that my film was chosen for this festival,” said Tamara Nemirovsky. This film is an uplifting tale of hope and redemption during an incredibly difficult time,” said Tamara Nemirovsky, the film’s director. “It is an inspiring and timely reminder of the possibility of second chances, even during the toughest times.”

The Gasparilla International Film Festival is held annually in Tampa Bay and showcases films from around the world, with a particular focus on independent filmmakers from Florida and Latin America. This year’s festival will take place between March 23rd and March 27th.

This inspiring documentary will leave viewers feeling hopeful that second chances are within reach no matter what challenges life throws our way. “Second Chances” will be screened on Sunday, March 26th, at AMX Weshore 6.
